Typography plays a significant role in urban environments. It influences how we see and engage with the world. It guides our movements and visually narrates a city’s history. Urban Typographic Landscapes and Sustainability explores ways in which urban typography can increase awareness of and promote sustainable living. Using the medium of poster design, typographic elements from various contexts in the city of Chicago are combined to communicate the value of environmental sustainability.
