AI in Art & Design: A Collaboration
There has been a significant surge in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in seemingly everything, from programs like ChatGPT to AI text-to-speech to AI-generated images. While these technological advancements can seem brilliant and efficient, a question is raised: Can AI replace human thoughts and emotions? At first glance, the answer may be an obvious ‘no.’ Surely, robotics can’t replicate human beings. However, it’s the subject of many movies, articles, and social media; theories like Singularity describe a future where technology advances so far that AI develops a consciousness of its own. Will all my years of drawing and studying be replaced by the brilliance of AI? As a graphic designer and passionate artist at heart, I initiated a collaboration between myself and AI, creating a series of images I could never have imagined on my own.
