Triggering Fear
Utilizing insights from psychology about the nature of fear provides a potent foundation for creating visually evocative designs that provoke fear. By leveraging psychological data on fear triggers and fear responses, I created content that intentionally taps into the innate human fascination with fear. The physiological response when experiencing fear, of high adrenaline and cortisol levels, underscores its addictive allure and explains the popularity of media dedicated to inducing fear. Drawing upon established psychological principles, the phobia-centric content and design of Triggering Fear effectively triggers viewers to experience fear responses, of which there are four: fight, flight, freeze, and fawn.
