GetGo: Move More with Less

As more people move to cities, existing transportation systems struggle to meet growing demand. Urban residents need to commute to work, shop for groceries, and transport items like rental equipment, often relying on personal cars that contribute to more street congestion in the form of traffic and parking. This situation is compounded with the rise of online shopping and delivery services. Public transit and ridesharing meet some transportation needs but fail to address local cargo delivery. Shared resources like Zipcar have limited availability, small service areas, and lack versatility.

Because personal cars and current transportation options do not adequately meet the common need for local delivery, we should explore new solutions. If the traditional vehicle and a range of local transportation options struggle to satisfactorily meet this common need, what can we do? What if we could transport modest loads on-demand without car ownership?
