Buzzkill
Guitar maintenance goes hand in hand with playing, but for many musicians, it comes as an afterthought. Staying on top of your instrument’s health can improve playability and help build better playing habits over time. That’s where Buzzkill comes in: a diagnostic app and device that helps guitar players identify issues like fret buzz, electronic problems, and setup imbalances.
Designed for intermediate players and anyone unsure how to assess their instrument, Buzzkill makes maintenance more intuitive, accessible, and part of the playing process. Using an audio receiver and vibrational sensor, the device works alongside a companion app that walks users through step-by-step checks. It flags problems, offers feedback, and can even notify users when something seems off.
With no other tool like it currently on the market, Buzzkill fills a real gap. The idea came from my own experience as a guitar tech, where I saw how often players struggled to explain what was wrong with their instruments. By helping players catch issues early and understand their guitar better, Buzzkill encourages healthier habits and a stronger connection between the musician and their instrument.
