Revive brings together my passion for sustainability and my love for beauty and personal care by reimagining how haircare products are delivered through a sustainable refill kiosk. While sustainability is often positioned as an individual responsibility, the real challenge lies in holding corporations accountable. Revive is a proposed system for popular retailers to implement in their stores — one that is accessible, practical, and easy to use for both consumers and retail employees. This project was born from the challenge of eliminating single-use plastic and striving toward a near zero-waste model. While plastic can technically be used sustainably, the volume of waste it generates makes its current usage unsustainable. Recycling, too, remains a deeply flawed system. A staggering statistic — less than half of Americans recycle bathroom products, and only 9% of plastic ever produced is actually recycled — underscores the urgency of rethinking how we consume and dispose of personal care packaging. Revive addresses this problem at the source by offering a refill-based alternative that reduces dependency on plastic and eliminates the need for constant recycling. It’s not just about sustainability — it’s about systemic change in the way personal care products are designed, delivered, and experienced.
