SoleMate
In 2022, the CDC reported that 18.9% of U.S. adults—approximately 48.8 million people—were diagnosed with arthritis, making it the leading cause of disability among adults. I chose to address this issue due to my own experiences with recurring foot and ankle injuries from playing sports growing up. These challenges inspired me to develop a preventative solution that supports joint health before long-term damage occurs. My proposed solution is a specialized exercise device designed to strengthen and improve the flexibility of foot and ankle muscles called SoleMate.
By focusing on these critical areas, SoleMate promotes better joint support and stability, which may reduce the risk of arthritis and joint degeneration over time. This compact, user-friendly device is ideal for at-home use, empowering individuals to take control of their joint health and mobility. The goal is to offer a proactive, accessible tool that supports long-term wellness and helps prevent the onset of arthritis, especially for those at higher risk due to injuries or aging.
