The next time you get in your car, take a good look at the tire. The typography on one side of the tire isn’t the same as that on the other side, but you’d never know that, unless you removed it completely. Most people don’t think twice about automobile typography, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. While some typefaces are standardized, many are deliberately chosen for specific reasons. My goal is to uncover and showcase this often-overlooked typography. I do this by extracting and highlighting it through a series of photographs, so that the hidden text can be revealed and see the light of day.
